Fairchild's 'Stones No. 1' is a tiny production but an absolutely brilliant wine. Loaded with big, beautiful fruit and a lovely nose, which reminds me of fresh cut flowers and warm cherry pie. The palate is dense and layered, with black cherries and dark berries, cut with a streak of formidable toasted wood tannins which should loosen with time. Finish goes on and on with soy and a touch of smoke. This is certinaly a special wine that should drink well over the course of the next two decades as it continues to evolve. (Best 2018-2034) - October, 2015 (VM)
