2014 marks the first vintage of Chardonnay from winemaker Katy Wilson of LaRue Wines. The grapes are from the historic Heintz Vineyard, where the Chardonnay was planted in 1982. It is very aromatic with honeysuckle scents, apricot, quince, and pineapple, followed by some hints brown butter and ripe peach. On the palate this is vibrant, with great purity and balance, with lovely acidity and precision through the finish. This is an excellent effort and I certainly look forward to see more Chardonnay from LaRue in future. (Best 2016-2024) - April, 2016 (MD)
