Given the length and richness of this wine, it seems like fruit from this vineyard was picked before the rains. The Shea vineyard is one of the more esteemed sites in the Willamette Valley and was first planted in the 1980s. Today Shea Vineyard is a 200-acre property with 140 planted acres. 135 of these acres are planted to Pinot Noir, with the remaining acreage to Chardonnay. The wine begins with aromas of mushroom, forest floor, wild blackberry and red cherry. There are flavors of red cherry, cranberry, Shitake mushroom and orange rind. The Pinot has some gorgeous weight and texture. (Best 2016-2026) - June, 2016 (OB)
