The 2014 Beeslaar Pinotage is a tremendous effort from Abrie Beeslaar. This dark and brooding wine opens with bold aromas of blackberries and blueberries woven together with sweet spices, chocolate, forest floor with some underbrush characteristics all coming together in the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied, dense and concentrated. It continues to demonstrate notable depth and balance as it continues to deliver layer upon layer of dark ripe fruits on to the long, mouth coating finish. When it comes to Pinotage, this is certainly one of the more compelling examples I have come across. (Best 2016-2026) - November, 2016 (JD)
