The 2014 'Mordecai' is a Proprietary blend of 35% Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa, Sonoma), 28% Syrah (Anderson Valley, Sonoma), 22% Zinfandel (Dry Creek, Russian River), 6% Merlot (Alexander Valley), 4% Carignan (Mendocino), 3% Cabernet Franc (Sonoma), 2% Cinsault (Sonoma). It has a lovely bouquet, offering aromas of blackberry, red currants, lavender, coffee, dark chocolate and hints of cassis and mint. A very easy drinking red, with notable balance of fruit and acidity. While this is accessible now, it should also evolve well over the next 5-7 years. (Best 2017-2025) - April, 2017 (MD)
