The 1990 Château Troplong Mondot Saint Émilion Grand Cru offers aromas of dried black cherry, currant, earthiness, cedar and some menthol. On the palate, menthol and black cherry are dominant however there are hints of alcohol in the background. This is still alive after 23 years but the tannins are resolved and the fruit is showing signs of fading. Wine is balanced, but the finish is becoming a bit austere with wood and dustiness.
