The ’90 Baron is still youthful, displaying a pretty garnet color showing no bricking around the edges. It offers hedonistic aromas of Asian spice, barnyard, smoke and cassis. On the palate, intense cassis and currents are framed by some funky barnyard and moist earth. The finish was sheer velvet, smooth with lingering black fruit and spices. This wine is a classic Paulliac and has a lot of life left. These 1990 Bordeaux’s seem to really be evolving nicely, but there is no rush on this one, as it should drink beautifully until at least 2020. (Best through 2020) - January, 2014 (JR)
