The 2009 La Cacce Brunello di Montalcino is a stunning showing, offering blackberries, dried cherries, leather, spices, dried floral and licorice, which all leap from the glass. This shows remarkable balance and possesses a gorgeous silky texture and seamless structure that will instantly win you over. The finish is long, laced with dried cherries, exotic spices and underlying minerals. This is drinking fantastic right out of the gate and I would recommend approaching this earlier on, but those looking to cellar it should expect it to evolve gracefully over the course of the next decade.
