The 2016 'Crossroads' Cabernet Sauvignon is a fantastic release from Rudd, which was sourced entirely from Estate fruit. As it slowly unwinds it begins to impress with inviting aromas of back cherries, dark plums, spices, peppercorn and forest herbs all coming together in the glass. On the palate this possesses a medium to full-bodied and is nicely structured with grainy tannins that frame the core of dark berries, spices and peppery flavors that expand beautifully through the wine. Overall, this is a wonderful showing from Rudd, which is already incredibly appealing, yet should also go on to flourish as it evolves over the course of the next decade and beyond.
