BETZ Syrah, Yakima Valley, Boushey Vineyard 'La Serenne' 2018

Dark purple in the glass, this gorgeous 100% Syrah from the Yakima Valley is fermented with 70% whole cluster and rests in 100% French oak for 16 months. I love the old-world style of winemaking that goes into all of Betz’s wines and this beautiful Syrah is no exception. It’s earthy on the nose with gobs of blueberry, boysenberry, black pepper and dried herb de provence. The palate is savory with the black and blue fruit tones taking a backseat to flavors of bacon fat, black olive and coffee grounds. The tannins are prominent and this wine needs 2-3 years in bottle to really shine. 280 cases produced.
