The 2018 LaLonde is composed from 54% Grenache, 34% Mourvèdre, 9% Syrah and 3% Touriga Nacional from Red Heaven Vineyard. It is made from 100% whole clusters and aged for 30 months on new French Oak. It instantly opens to nuances of kirsch, cherries and ripe boysenberries which are accented by sweet spices, earth, floral and a touch of white pepper and citrus rounding out the aromatics. On the palate this is medium-bodied and layered with a focused core of sweet red and dark fruits. This continues to impress as the lovely round, texture expands seamlessly through the long, chewy finish. A wonderful red blend that can be enjoyed over the next decade or more.
