A blend of 65% Sagemoor & Weathereye Roussanne and 35% Boushey Marsanne that is aged for 14 months in total (7 months in 25% new French oak and then an additional 7 months in half concrete egg and half in neutral French oak.) Notes of roasted pear, vanilla bean, Dahlia flower, toasted tree nuts, and a hint of sweet baking spice form this full-bodied wine with medium-plus acidity and an oily texture that coats the tongue. Very herbaceous on the mid-palate with some bitter herbs lingering on the finish. Another lovely effort from Avennia that should age for a decade or more. One of my favorite Washington white wines year after year. Only 200 cases produced
