PIOLET Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley 2019

This well constructed 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was made with fruit coming from both the Horse Heaven Hills and Red Mountain AVA’s. Spending 24 months in 90% new French oak, this deep violet offering had everything in its right place. Aromas of blackberry on the nose were followed on the palate by black current, tart plum, licorice, and tobacco. This medium bodied wine has a solid tannic structure that softened with a little time in the glass. As it moved mid-palate thru the finish, slight prune, fig and anise emerged. I followed this over numerous hours and I loved how it progressed. A few years in the bottle will be its friend, and then this enjoyable wine will set sail for at least another 15 years. Count me as impressed.
