This fantastic Pinot Noir comes from the Putnum Vineyard, which is located just 6 miles from the Pacific Ocean in the small town of Annapolis on the extreme Sonoma Coast. Made from Calera, 115 and 777 clones, this offers pretty aromatics of ripe dark cherries, blackberries, cola, damp soil, exotic spices all wraped up with pretty spring florals all soaring from the glass. Fresh and vibrant, this possesses a medium body with a gorgeous silky texture and wonderful acidity bringing balance. This quite appealing today, but I ecpect it will continue to soften and become even more compelling with some short-term cellaring.
