The Weir Vineyard is located in the Yorkville Highlands wheere the the Pinot Noir planted on a south facing hill which boasts rocky soils, set at 850 and 1000 feet. The 2015 Pinot Noir is another outstanding showing from the team at Spell Estate as it opens with an inviting bouquet of red raspberry, spicebox and suggestions of wild blackberry pie. The palate is round and silky, showing flavors of black cherries, black raspberry, loganberry jam and ripe strawberry. This continues to impress with its gorgeous silky tannins as the smooth mouthfeel and wonderful poise show through. This wine will cellar marvelously for a decade or more.
