Aged for 11 months in 50% new French oak barrels, the 2021 Haakon Lenai Pinot Noir shows a ton of promise. Incredibly tight right now because it’s so young, this stunning wine displays a medium purple core with a blueish rim and showcases notes of candied boysenberry, wild huckleberry, cedary herbs, ground pink peppercorn, and just a smooch of earthy tobacco leaf. Crunchy tannins, mouthwatering acidity, and a medium to full-body are all present and showcase the beautiful purity of fruit and herbaceous finish. Enjoy this one over the next decade or more.
