This Pinot Noir spends 11 months in French oak, with 25% being new, which gives this beautiful wine a pop of spiciness on the nose and on the palate. A nose of boysenberry pie, violet and black pepper combine with fresh vanilla seeds. The palate is much of the same with a touch of black licorice and fennel added in for some added complexity. The wine has very high alcohol at 14.8% but you don’t feel it because it’s so well crafted and balanced.
