EVENING LAND Red Wine, Eola-Amity ‘Seven Spring Passetoutgrain’ 2021

A fun blend of 50% Gamay Noir and 50% Pinot Noir that is surprisingly rich and decadent on the nose. In a blind, I would call it a new world Pinot Noir as it doesn’t bring that bubblegum-type of flavor you typically would fetch with Gamay. It displays a medium purple ruby core with a pinkish rim. Huckleberry, black cherry, purple wildflower, cola, and sweet baking spice notes fill the glass and lead to an amazing herbaceous, slightly peppery, red-fruit-driven finish with gobs of acidity and lovely rounded tannins. I could drink this wine every week, it’s that good.
